Blackbaud Knowledge Base Download Citrix Receiver

Before launching your solution in Blackbaud Hosting Services or a Microsoft Azure environment for the first time, you must install the Citrix Workspace on each workstation. This will allow you to remotely access your Blackbaud environment from the main server where they are stored. One common question regarding this process concerns determining the appropriate version of the install for your machine (whether MAC or Windows). This solution discusses the steps needed to identify and install the most supported version of Citrix for your Operating System.

Note: We currently recommend Citrix Workspace for Windows or for Mac version 1904 or later

Warning:  There is an issue in Receiver for Windows in versions.  Citrix has addressed this issue in version LTSR 4.9 CU6 (4.9.6001) but has NOT addressed it in 4.8, 4.10, 4.11, or 4.12.  For more information about this issue, see this Citrix knowledge base article https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX251986.

Citrix has designated Receiver for Windows version 4.9 a 'Long Term Service Release' (LTSR) version.  Unlike their standard releases which have a lifecycle of 18 months, each LTSR version will have a three-year lifecycle during which a regular series of updates will be released for that LTSR version.  To mitigate this issue, users should install Citrix Receiver LTSR 4.9 CU6 (4.9.6001) and any future updates to 4.9 that are released or the current version of Citrix Workspace.  Versions of Receiver for Windows OTHER THAN 4.9 have already or will soon reach their end-of-life and will not be fixed by Citrix.

Note:  Support for Citrix Receiver 4.9 is ending in December 2020, it is recommended users upgrade to the latest version of Citrix Workspace.

NOTE : If you do not have administrative privileges on your machine, you may need to contact your organization's IT department to install the Citrix Receiver for you.

If your environment is in Microsoft Azure

To download the latest version directly from your environment's login page:

1. Open your browser and navigate to your environment's URL:
   • US-East: https://login2.blackbaudhosting.com
   • US-West: https://login1.blackbaudhosting.com
   • Canada: https://appsca.blackbaudondemand.com
   • Sydney: https://login4.blackbaudhosting.com
   • Europe: https://login01.blackbaud.net/Citrix/S01Web/
2. Click on the link for "Windows" or "MAC" to download the appropriate version. If an older version is already installed, please be sure to uninstall that version before downloading a new one.

3. Once downloaded, if the Installer does not start automatically, run the file.
   • NOTE : When running the installer, if you receive the message "This version of Citrix Receiver is not the most recent version," you are already on a supported version and no further action is needed. Click OK to exit and skip to Step 5.
4. Once installation is complete, clickClose orFinish (depending on your Operating System).
   • NOTE:If prompted to enter an email address and create an account, clickCancel.This feature would create a Citrix Receiver account, which is not required in Blackbaud's environments.
5. Return to your environment's URL to log in and launch your application.

OR t o download the latest version using the Citrix auto-detect feature before reaching the login page:

1. Open your browser and navigate to your environment's URL:
   • US-East: https://login2.blackbaudhosting.com
   • US-West: https://login1.blackbaudhosting.com
   • Canada: https://appsca.blackbaudondemand.com
   • Sydney: https://login4.blackbaudhosting.com
   • Europe: https://login01.blackbaud.net/Citrix/S01Web/
2. The site will automatically detect whether you have the Citrix Receiver installed. If you do not have it installed, it will prompt you with the following request:
   • 
   • NOTE:If you are accessing Blackbaud Hosting Services using Google Chrome, this prompt will occur each time you access the login page. If the Citrix Receiver is already installed on this machine, chooseSkip to Log onto bypass this notification.
3. Check the box labeled I agree with the Citrix licence agreement.
4. Click Install.

NOTE : When running the installer, if you receive the message "This version of Citrix Receiver is not the most recent version," you are already on a supported version and no further action is needed. Click OK to exit and skip to Step 7.

5. Once downloaded, if the Installer does not start automatically, run the file.
6. Once installation is complete, clickClose orFinish (depending on your Operating System).

7.  Return to your environment's URL to log in and launch your application.

        (If your application is launching in Adobe Acrobat Reader or Internet Explorer, follow the steps listed here.)

1. Navigate to your appropriate NXT URL:
   • renxt.blackbaud.com
   • fenxt.blackbaud.com
2. On the top, right-hand corner of the omnibar, click the Databases icon >Install Workspace to be taken to the most applicable version of the workspace for your workstation.
3. Click on the version to download this to your workstation.
4. Once downloaded, if the Installer does not start automatically, run the file.
   • NOTE : When running the installer, if you receive the message "You already have this version of Citrix Workspace installed, so the install will exit," you are already on a supported version and no further action is needed. Click OK to exit and skip to Step 5.
5. Once installation is complete, clickClose orFinish (depending on your Operating System).
   • NOTE:If prompted to enter an email address and create an account, clickCancel.This feature would create a Citrix Receiver account, which is not required in Blackbaud's environments.)
6.  Return to the NXT web view to log in and launch your application.
